Meltblown non-woven are produced by extruding melted polymer fibers through a spin net or die consisting of up to 40 holes per inch to form long thin fibers which are stretched and cooled by passing hot air over the fibers as they fall from the die.

The melt blown fabric is used in the making of face masks (surgical masks and respirators), thermal insulation materials and oil absorbing materials.
Spunbond NWPP is a sturdier material spun from larger diameter fibers that are thermally bonded together, which makes them more suitable for washing and reuse. Meltblown NWPP is constructed from smaller, more delicate fibers, resulting in a material that is not generally considered washable or reusable.
Meltblown nonwovens can exhibit good absorbent properties. The fine fibers can quickly absorb liquids, making them useful in applications such as absorbent pads, wipes, and filtration media for oil filter elements.
Melt blown fabric is a film made of high melt index polypropylene. The fabric is composed of many criss-cross fibers stacked in random directions. The fiber diameter ranges from 0.5 to 10 microns, and the fiber diameter is about one-third of the hair diameter.
High-performance, non-woven sheet made of special ultra-fine polypropylene fibers that are given electret properties through a specialized process.
